i am at a bit of desperate state. I have ordered a new pc to build it myself. Not my first time.
here are the main specs :
Motherboard : MSI X399 Gaming Pro carbon ac
CPU : AMD Threadripper 2950x
Memory : Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8) // G.skill ripjaw 32GB (4x8)
Drive : Samsung 970 Pro
GPU : Msi RTX 2070 armor 8GB AC
PSU : EVGA 850 g3
I built the system for the first time and it woudl not post. I learned that i needed to update the BIOS (to make the Threadripper 2x compatible) which i did with the use of a usb stick (fat32 formatted). At that point i woudl get different error codes (10 and 06) and troubleshooted multiple thing with tech support (reseating CPU, 1 RAM DIMM, clearing CMOS etc.). I was told to RMA the Motherboard as it might be faulty.
I received that new board and reinstalled all my hardware on it. Updated the bios. At that point i got a post and coudl see the bios of the board. But still had 2 problems. ONE Every time i woudl try to boot a windows installer or live linux of any form it woudl freeze up at some point. TWO bios woudl only detect 8GB ram instead of the 32 that were installed. But i did somehow managed to get a LIVE Ubuntu to boot ( still showing 8GB ram ) and had consistant BIOS. I Called the MSI support line and they had me go through the same troubleshoothing. During said troubleshooting after removing the ram sticks to only use one i coudl not get a post anymore (ERROR CODE 0D). The guy concluded that my RAM might be incompatible (which i really tought wasent the case) So i RMA'D my memory and ordered some G.Skill Ripjaw 4 that were on their list.
-- I had that memory tested on another system (it worked fine)
- I received said ram and installed it on the board (2nd one) and tried booting it and still coudl not get a post (same 0D error code). Discussed with the support line again. This one concluded it might be the CPU that is faulty, which is possible but woudl be surprising since it seems to be a rare occurence. It coudl also be the Motherboard faulty again ( but this virtually impossible, 2 board in a row woudl be surprising )
The problem is that this 0D error code is not documented in the manual for the motherboard and is simply listed as : "Reserved for Future AMI SEC code" There is very little info on the internet about this. There seems to be many resolve to this problem, CPU change, memory, repeadly reset CMOS / BIOS.
I sadly dont have any other working system with a similar socket to test the CPU itself
all the problems i can think of coudl be :
1. CPU Faulty
2. Mobo Faulty (again)
3. mobo shorting on the case ?
4. bent pins or dead socket ?
Anybody had anything similar ? Anybody has any idea of what coudl be wrong ?

It honestly sounds like your CPU is at fault. However, I am not shocked at the memory incompatibility. Ryzen and Threadripper (which is a Ryzen core) is know to be extremely sensitive about memory compatibility. The pins are on the motherboard not the CPU...

@Ramhound yes i know the pins are on the board, but maybe if the CPU wasent seated proprely, pushing it down might make the pins shift and bend in a way that breaks it ?

It would be pretty clear if pins were bent or broken on a CPU.

Unless you incorrectly installed the CPU twice that’s unlikely. The fact the memory wasn’t detected properly indicates a CPU problem.
