I was wondering if such a device exists that does this:

  • 2 hdmi in (A/B)

  • 1 hdmi out (goes to projectors)

  • has a screen

with a physical press button to decide which (A or B) goes to the projectors. we don't want any "last device on wins" auto detection we want to physically press a box and the button pop and the other button up pop.

but here is the kicker:

I'd like to be able to have a interrupt screen for A so that whether A or B is pressed the user of the device has a teeny tiny cheat monitor which is showing what would be up on screen A even if the device button is on B.

This is why:
imagine you are doing power points in front of a big crowd. but this is a portable setup and all your gear is cheap. you do power points. you also do the odd video. the thing is the people on the stage gave you the usb drive with what they want about 2 mins ago. you sit at the back doing sound and video. you want to set it up so it is rolling on your mini "monitor" monitor for channel A so you can be sure it is full screen etc then you want to press "A" on your hardware device. you move your hands finger1 goes on the "A" button.. finger2 goes to the unmute on the sound board.. the video fires up full screen.. and at the same time unmute the laptop audio out.. bingo.. full room audio video... the film ends hit "B" (black screen and mute laptop//) you still have a smaller screen so if you press "B" it will back the screen and you can fiddle move your mouse on the extended display etc.

is there any thing like this I can cobble together cheap? if it can support RGB and HDMI both all the better
