I tried via the Mint website to install Adminer (PhpMyAdmin lightweight robust alternative) but it installed a slightly outdated version 4.6 vs. 4.7 via the Package Manager and also I see no trace of it within /var/www/ or /var/www/html/ (where my apache-hosted site files are to reside for web access).

What am I doing wrong, how do I do this right?

Also I see on its website that there's a regular download and a MySQL one; I intend on using it for MySQL and beyond but firstly MySQL is what I'm working with as of yet.

For now I completely removed it from my system via Synaptic Pkg. Mgr.

I installed PhpMyAdmin via sudo apt install phpmyadmin php-mbstring php-gettext php-mysql but again find no trace of it in the aforementioned directories.

Also where are mysql databases stored on disk?
