I keep getting this reoccurring problem whenever I try to watch Netflix using an external monitor for my laptop. I keep getting the error codes U7361-1255-C00D7159 and U7361-1253-C00D7159. According to Netflix support this is because of a device that does not support HDCP. They monitor in question is a Samsung 22" UN22F5000AF Full HD Television and according to Samsung support's email to me:




This TV already comes with HDCP compliance, but not the latest version which is required to connect 4K devices. Hence you could connect devices with HDCP compliance to the TV which supports a screen resolution of 1080P.




I've never had a problem using it for Netflix before, the only times this has ever come up is when using it with my laptop. I've also found the issue to occur when connecting to a computer monitor where I work (another Samsung monitor but I don't know the model number). When trying to resolve this with Netflix they tried to see if reinstalling Netflix would fix it, along with watching via a web browser (I watch via the Windows 10 app by the way), and updating my security on my computer. None of these fixed the issue. Could this be because my laptop uses a UHD monitor and only UHD laptops can use appropriate UHD external monitors in order for HDCP to work? This has been very bothersome for me, and even if I can't fix the issue I'd still like to get to the bottom of why this is occurring. I'd hate to buy a new monitor that's 1080p and find out I still get the same issue.



A side note: very occasionally I will find a title on Netflix where I don't get this error, but the vast majority of titles return this error.
