Today I just noticed a weird behavior on my Windows 10 desktop which has never happened before.

I downloaded a few images and they're all right next to each other (vertically). Now that I needed to delete them I selected the first image and held Shift then clicked on the last image. My expectation was that I'd be selecting all the images vertically like I've been doing since I was a kid. To my surprise though it selected icons from the first image to the last image but also selected icons in between them (horizontally).

I didn't download any Windows update in a while (currently sitting at OS build: 17134.81 - June 8, 2018).

I've also searched around whether other people have been having this issue as well and saw this and this but no solution has been provided.

Is there a way for me to put it back to the way it was before? This has been really annoying.
