I'm trying to create a new connection in MySQL Workbench 8.0, however when I test my connection I get this error message:

Failed to Connect to MySQL at 127.0.0.1:3306 with user root.   

Can't connect MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (10061). 

I tried running the command prompt as administrator as suggested in another post, but it states that it can't find mysql. What other troubleshooting steps can I try?

Failed to Connect to MySQL at 127.0.0.1:3306 with user root.   

Can't connect MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (10061). 

I tried running the command prompt as administrator as suggested in another post, but it states that it can't find mysql. What other troubleshooting steps can I try?
