join a table of names as they move over time to various locations on a map

0

I'd like to join a table of names as they move over time to various locations on a map: location a,b,c,etc. are displayed on a QGIS map.
I also have a table of workers:
Joe S{job:janitor,loc:a, worked:1985-87,age:62},
Joe S{job:janitor,loc:c, worked:1987-97,age:62},
Joey K{job:enforcer,loc:b, worked:1995-2005,age:42},
Joey K{job:enforcer,loc:a,worked:1991-95,age:42},
Joey K{job:enforcer,loc:f,worked:1983-85,age:42},

Tommy B{job:bottle washer,loc: z,worked:1977,age:52}, etc,
I would like to add and join those names to the various locations on my map. How? I would like to batch load this while also adding the names and dates to the popups associated with the locations. I can do this in other programs but am new to spatial mapping and nothing I've tried has worked. I could try another spatial gis program anyone suggests. Thanks!
