I cannot connect to some websites using my Linksys WRP400. Neither wired or wireless.

I can connect these from another network. I used a smartphone to test.

When I visit the website via the regular (Linksys) router it gives me a connection timeout.

My connection to the internet at that time is working since I can ping 8.8.8.8.

Setting that as DNS didn't help.

This question came from our site for system and network administrators.

  • try pinging something over the internet to see if you are getting high packet loss/what your speed is. ping -t 8.8.8.8 This problem sounds like its on your service providers end

  • Hi, I did ping -t 8.8.8.8 and the result is time=[30-165ms] and TTL=[52 steady]

  • Try pressing the reset button on the router. Failing that, try holding the reset button for 10-20 seconds to restore its settings to the factory defaults (you may want to note down anything you changed first).
