Kenan Kong (em chinês: 孔克南, pīnyīn[1]) é um personagem fictício de origem chinesa presente em histórias em quadrinhos publicadas pela editora americana DC Comics, estreou como o novo Superman na revista "New Super-Man #1" lançado em 13 de Julho de 2016 nos Estados Unidos[2] na reformulação da saga Rebirth.[3]

As histórias apresentaram um “novo” Superman, de origem chinesa, abordando os ideais defendidos pelo Homem de Aço dentro de um contexto cultural diferente.[4]
História |
Kenan Kong é um chinês de 17 anos que cresceu em Xangai e que começa a história como um sacana mas aos poucos se torna um herói quando adquire os poderes do Homem de Aço.[5] Produto do próprio governo chinês, resultado dos experimentos com a coleta de radiação kryptoniana emanada do Superman dos Novos 52 em The Final Days of Superman, quando ele utilizava seu poder de explosão solar. O novo Superman junto com Bat-Man (Wang Baixi) e a Mulher-Maravilha da China (Peng Deilan) são o resultado de um experimento de um departamento misterioso do governo [Ministério da Supremacia] que está criando uma Liga da Justiça chinesa para ganhar mais respeito do ocidente, como uma versão mais atual dos Os Dez Grandiosos para a nova Era.
