First of all, I'm currently using a work PC (Windows 10) with LAN cable connection which block couple of sites such as gmail.com.

I brought my home USB Wifi and installed it on my work PC, connect the wireless to my phone's hotspot, hoping that I would be able to load gmail.com.

Therefore now I have 2 active connections on the work PC, the LAN and also the Wifi connected to public internet via my phone.

I launched Firefox and set the Network Settings to have no proxy at all hoping that this would use the Wifi connection that I setup,

Unfortunately it still didn't work. Is this solution feasible?

It appears to me that it worked whenever I disabled the LAN connection, therefore it has to be 1 active connection only, else the LAN connection will take priority.

Any idea how to make this work (If possible)?

Please let me know

Thanks,
Andy

I'm sure it's possible to disable the ethernet & only use the wifi, but the bigger issue is you're messing around with your work computer, exposing their computer (and possibly whole lan) to the internet in ways they didn't plan on. If your job is important, why not quit playing with work equipment and just use your personal phone / tablet / laptop? If you have a legitimate reason to access gmail or the other blocked sites at work, then just ask IT to fix it.
