I'm using the "hear & see" method to re-sync a video with its subtitles, e.g. I press shift+h when I hear a word and shift+j when I see the subtitle. When I correct the time difference with shift+k, the time difference is very briefly shown at the top right, but it is shown so fast that I cannot read it.
Is there any possibility to somehow show this message for a longer time or access it somehow else? I need it to permanently shift the subtitles with another program.

I don't have a subtitled video for testing, but I notice that the messages from your keys remain on screen for as long as I hold the key pressed. Have you tried holdingShift-K
down for an extended period?

@AFH Thanks for the idea! This indeed works for the first two keystrokes, but forshift+k
the message is not shown for the duration of the key press, but is replaced by another message with "set bookmark"
