I've added a SSD into my Asus F555UB to speed things up. I wanted to replace my DVD-Drive with an SSD-Adapter (also called Caddy) that fits into this space, so I can keep my 1TB of slow but huge memory and enhance my Laptop with a newly bought SSD.

However. If I plug the caddy into the SATA-Port, my Laptop either:

  • freezes when already running

  • or doesn't even boot into windows

It makes no difference wheter or not there's an actual HDD (or SSD) inside the caddy. Even when I plug it in without anything inside it won't boot my operating system. But when going into the BIOS it shows me that there are 2 harddrives plugged in, also with serial number and name. The caddy I'm using is from the company Salcar. Please if you have any suggestions how I can get this work tell me :)
