I was asked by a friend to transfer data from an external hard drive that his been mirrored from the local disk of his computer. He wants to transfer the photos and videos to DVD to give to family.

When I plugged this external hard drive into my laptop to have a look, i noted that his data (picture albums and videos) were missing. The WD My Book hard drive seems as if its blank. I ran a recovery scan to my computer pc, there are pictures on the drive that we cannot see. How do I do about making them visible or accessing them to be able to move them?

  • Why do you think your friend properly "mirrored" his drive? Seems if the photos and videos are missing, your friend didn't do something right. So, why try to "recover" something that isn't there? Go back to your friend and help him to transfer the data to the drive properly.
