I'm new here and not technologically savvy. Anyway, my ex-spouse stole my external hard drive and had it in his possession for over six months. He has just returned it but I'm certain files have been deleted from it. Is there anyway to tell if files have been deleted, when they were deleted and to recover them? We are going through contentious divorce proceedings. Thanks in advance..

He has just returned it but I'm certain files have been deleted from it. Is there anyway to tell if files have been deleted, when they were deleted and to recover them?
