So, what's really common seems really obscure; the title, and how does one accomplish it?
To elaborate: I managed to find a good tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAU0B1ARI4k) with a macro code that, in Excel 2010, places invisible edges at the every column header and so allows one to quickly sort that column by ascending/descending by merely clicking it. This solution, though, is not persistant because it is inherent to the Excel form control button. Any importing of the Excel table to, say, pdf or word removes this macro function.
So, how can I create a table in Excel capable of doing the described above and also import it to different programs, specifically Word 2010 first then PDF. I may be overlooking a simpler solution but it's been 10 hours and I can't find any.
