I have a "real-time" project due tomorrow.
I’ve been working on it all day and night, but I clicked something that made the VirtualBox screen turn black.
I saved the status of the virtual machine and turned it off. Now I opened it so I can send the code to myself on anything just to not lose it, and it's still black.
I believe I know what I clicked. It might have been this downward triangle in the upper right corner of Ubuntu 18.04:
And then a choice of a circle with two lines… I think?
This is what it looks like now:
How can I undo this?

Too bad you didn't save a snapshot of Ubuntu 18.0r before you hit a snag with the circle with two lines. For your information the ⏼ icon in the upper right corner of the first screenshot is the poweroff button to shutdown Ubuntu.
