The whole incident started with me forgetting my newly set password and realizing after a week.
I remember my 2 previous passwords correctly, even in chronological order. I remember when I opened my account. I did not set a recover mail and I did not provide a phone number in any way other than when I enabled my 2 step authentication, because apparently Google forces people to first enable sms 2 step auth and then use an app authenticator (people do have the option to remove the phone number after the app 2 step auth is set up, which I did.).
I made sure that first thing I did was go through all the documentation google provides to ensure I am on their side of things and know what they offer. The documentation readily available online offered 3 ways:
- Filling the automated forgot password form which in my case had no results whatsoever and wasted 2 weeks of my life so far, as google does not trust me with providing my last correct password, my valid and working 2 step authentication app key that I can only have through a locked down app and the month I created my account.
- Through the forums I noticed a link to direct support with google about account recovery which I used without any off-boilerplate responses. Amusingly, Google advised me to do things that were neither in their official documentation nor are supported by their current online "forgot password" form (some steps they advised me to do simply cannot be achieved).
- Through the replies I got I was sent to the feedback page to file a feedback report of all the previous things I did. Apparently all they are willing to do is sent me to feedback forms, BUT I also made sure I linked them to a full email log in my feedback and request help. To which they replied with the same off-reality boilerplate 😂
I also made sure to make a fuss in my twitter account, which attracted Google's attention and was puclicly promised a DM conversation about my issue that never actually happened as of now. Besides, my twitter is close to an ant for Google, I'd just look like the average confused person to anyone seeing that and since I am not a journalist it would never hurt their PR.
Long story short and for the people that ctrl+F
tl;dr : I know I did something stupid and I am locked out of my account simply because ol' me didn't take note of a password on a simple piece of paper like any person would do. And the question is simple: What should I do?
By the way, I am an EU citizen and could use the "you lock me off my data and I want a report of my data" card, but still not-so-willing to get the law involved in this. The whole thing is just more of a lighthearted experiment now than anything else. This account is linked to many of my crucial other accounts though, so I am pretty sure I'd get in some serious trouble trying to migrate them without being able to reach possible verification emails they'd send.

Your question is out of scope here at Super User. Unfortunately there isn’t a Stack Exchange community for this question. At this point only Google can help you recover access to your account.. I would advise you in the future to always keep at least one way to recover an account.

You purposefully removed the only method to recover access to your account through an SMS. While you could request your data, that won’t regain access to your account, so I am not entirely sure what you would achieve from that. Most websites have a method to change the registered email address when access to the original account is lost. You might want to start that process.

@Ramhound To request one's data, a person needs to be logged in first. Therefore they are depriving an entity, no matter how silly what the entity did was, from the rights assigned to them in their agreement as per the Terms of Use and EU citizen privacy rights. That is the only reason I am making that point. Plus it is their legal job to have a privacy-first system. A phone number assigned to an account just to recover it or keep it "private" is really not privacy-first in my opinion. The recovery procedure should not require an SMS, if not due to privacy, due to service feasibility.
