Os Quatro Motores para a Europa são quatro regiões altamente industrializadas da Europa . É composto da Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes região da França , centrado em Lyon , a Lombardia região na Itália , centrado em Milão , Catalunha , centrado em Barcelona , e Baden-Württemberg na Alemanha , centrado em Stuttgart . Em 9 de setembro de 1988, em Estocolmo , Suécia , os presidentes dos quatro territórios assinaram um acordo, chamado de "Memorando", para aumentar a cooperação económica e social entre os ''Reinos". O acordo era para ter as quatro regiões cooperarem em uma relação de longo prazo nas áreas de ciência , pesquisa , educação , meio ambiente , cultura e outros setores. O propósito dessa relação era proporcionar uma força de unificação na Europa, bem como aumentar o potencial de economia de crescimento dentro das quatro regiões. Estas regiões se concentram na troca de informações com os outros para expandir a sua tecnologia.Pais de Gales e Flandres também estão associados a este grupo. [1]
