I have basically the same question as this question, except that I am interested in answers for Windows 7 instead of Windows 10.
Windows 7 considers a built-in laptop screen to be Display 1, and an external monitor to be Display 2.
If I put a laptop (Display 1) to the left of an external monitor (Display 2), I can configure Windows 7 to extend the desktop across Display 1 and Display 2, and move the cursor in a logical direction to move across screens. But if I turn off the laptop screen (Display 1), and then re-enable it, Windows 7 always moves Display 1 to the right of Display 2, which no longer makes cursor movements across the screens logical.
I can manually change the settings each time, but I would like Windows 7 to remember where Display 1 is physically located in relationship to Display 2.
How can this be accomplished?
